Invented in the 18th century by the Frenchman Claude Louis Berthollet, bleach took its name from a now defunct village called Javel, located in Paris. Bleach was originally developed to help bleach laundry. It soon became popular, but not until later did people discover that it had other properties. In the 19th century, it was commonly used as a disinfectant and drinking water treatment.
Nowadays, bleach is available in liquid form (bottles) or in solid form (tablets), Eurotab's flagship product since 1957.
Our bleach tablets are produced using sodium dichloroisocyanurate (or NaDCC), a biocidal active substance.
NaDCC HAS THE FOLLOWING PROPERTIES:
EN 1276 (bactericide in suspension)
EN 13697 (surface bactericide and fungicide)
EN 14476 (surface disinfectant)
This concentrated and pre-dosed bleach tablet is a powerful disinfectant: it kills up to 99.9% of germs (bacteria, viruses and mould).
An ideal solution for the general public, the bleach tablet is used to bleach, remove stains and disinfect floors, surfaces, white laundry, toilets, kitchen utensils, bathrooms, rubbish bins and pet litter.
Among professionals, tablets are used for disinfecting premises, medical equipment (beds, tables, etc.), catering equipment and for bleaching laundry.
