WHAT’S YOUR MAIN TASK?
« I supervise the accounts and ensure the accuracy and reliability of the monthly and annual closings working with Financial Control and the auditors at the end of the year. »
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WITH EUROTAB? IN WHICH POSITIONS?
« I have been in this job since 2 June 2021 to back up the team and bring my knowledge as an M3 expert (ERP software to manage and optimise all the company's departments) as well as the implementation of control tools to ensure the reliability of the financial reviews and statements.
I work closely with Moussia, the Accounting and Consolidation Manager. We are very complementary. »
WHAT IS YOUR TYPICAL DAY LIKE?
« I work according to the accounting and tax deadlines, and I have to stick to the schedule.
The intense period is the beginning of the month when the results have to be sent to financial control in order to inform the management accordingly.
The monthly accounting review consists of analysing the accounts, making provisions and justifying any differences. The earlier the figures are transmitted, the greater the visibility and ability of the company to take appropriate decisions. This also means that the accounts can be validated for the annual financial statements.
The monthly closing also gives me an opportunity to interact with my colleagues: accounts payable - accounts receivable and cash flow.
I also work on BI (Business Intelligence), which enables us to draw up reports to optimise our accounting data. »
WHAT QUALITIES DO YOU NEED FOR THIS POSITION?
« The main quality is being thorough. This implies being conscientious and organised, but above all knowing how to work in a team. Being versatile, adaptable and always willing to learn. Good knowledge of IT tools. »
WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT EUROTAB?
« The warm and friendly atmosphere at Eurotab. I appreciate the independence I have and the diversity of my job: I've learned a lot since I arrived, as well as the specifics of the company (chemicals) in terms of taxation and standards. I also appreciate the sharing and quality of information provided by the management. »
WHAT DRIVES YOU ON A DAILY BASIS?
« I like my job and what I do: 36 years of loyal service in all the companies I have worked for. »
WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST PRIDE AT WORK?
« My knowledge of our M3 ERP and the implementation of control tools for monthly and annual financial statements. This project has enabled us to achieve a reduction in timescales, allowing us to plan ahead and meet our deadlines. »
MORE PERSONALLY: DO YOU HAVE ANY HOBBIES AND/OR ANY SPECIAL INTERESTS?
« I run, dance: Lyrical, West Coast, Charleston (jazz roat) and I have even done a triathlon! With my very sedentary job, I need to get some oxygen and move. »
