WHAT’S YOUR MAIN TASK?

« I'm responsible for supplying the bleach tablet production lines, ensuring the availability of the materials needed to keep production running smoothly and efficiently. »

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WITH EUROTAB? IN WHICH POSITIONS?

« I arrived in March 2017 as a line operator on the Disinfection site in Saint-Rambert, then moved up to the position of forklift operator in January 2018. Sometimes I go to the Detergents site in Saint-Just to help out the Logistics team as a forklift operator. »

WHAT IS YOUR TYPICAL DAY LIKE?

« When I arrive at my post, I take over from the previous operator, who explains my tasks to me. I always start by checking the 5S chart and the VRS, to make sure that everything is in order and complies with cleanliness and organisation standards before starting my tasks. Then I assess the quantities of skips and pallet trays (full or empty) to anticipate orders if necessary.

My days vary according to production. Every 30 minutes, I check the flow of powder from the big bags to make sure that the production lines are correctly fed. When there's a change of formula, I weigh the big bags, open the powders and take inventory.
In the last two hours of my shift, I empty the reject drums and throw away the cartons.

I'm in contact with the line operator all day long, and there's one forklift operator per shift. »

WHAT QUALITIES DO YOU NEED FOR THIS POSITION?

« Being autonomous is what I prefer in my job: not being dependent on anyone. I would also say the importance of organisation. »

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT EUROTAB?

« I like the staff, and I like my job too. »

WHAT DRIVES YOU ON A DAILY BASIS?

« Quite frankly, it's my colleagues who put me in a good mood; they're like a second family. It's essential that they get on well with each other and help each other out. Even if there's a problem, they're always there to support me, and it's mutual. »

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST PRIDE AT WORK?

« My greatest source of pride is my ability to train new forklift drivers. I've already trained four people, usually over three-week periods. The Team Manager provides us with an evaluation sheet to monitor their progress. I really enjoy this role, as well as the trust that is placed in me as a forklift driver. I'm often referred to as a ‘permanent forklift operator’, which is very satisfying for me.»
